As the much talked about Western Area Football Association (WAFA) elections gains scheduled to take place early next month continues to heat up, a group of football stakeholders from different clubs within the Western Area on Monday, November 28 this year presented their candidates for Chairman and Vice Chairman at the Freetown Radio studios at 2 Goderich Street, Freetown.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, a senior Ports Authority official who chaired the occasion, Mr. Idressa Tarawalie, stated that they wanted radical changes in football in this country which was why they have decided to come together and support Mr. Abdul H. Kannasieu as they see him as the most qualified person for the position to head the association.
He also stated that for quite a long time now, the association has been very dormant in terms of developing and promoting football in the country, which observed has made them very tired of the same old faces.
He stressed that it was in a bid to remove these old faces, who, he said, have no positive ideas to offer to them that they have decided to give the leadership to Mr. Kannasieu.
He called on all stakeholders to join them in this revolution to bring sanity to football in the Western Area.
Presenting his manifesto to the gathering, the Team Manager of the Ports Authority Football Club who are the current champions of the Salone Premier League, Mr. Abdul H. Kannasieu, stated that together with all stakeholders they can deliver and make a better change for football to develop in the Western Area.
Ha maintained that if given the opportunity he intends to add his own contribution to develop the young stars in the country.
