At last the football gets a liberator

Mr. Abdul H. Kanasieu, newly elected Chairman of WAFA

As football fans and stakeholders in the Western Area went to the polls over the weekend to elect a new executive for the Western Area Football Association (WAFA), after a gruelling day of horse trading and brinkmanship, the Team Manager of the Ports Authority Football Club, Mr. Abdul H. Kanasieu, emerged victorious as Chairman.

Referred to as the Liberator, in an exclusive interview with AYV Sports immediately after his victor, he stated that his executive was going to start work on developing football in the Western Area right away.

He explained that he was very elated at his victory, noting that he was not going to let the massive he has go into his head but that he was going to use the goodwill to implement his objective of taking football to a higher level in the Western Area.

“I am going to work with all stakeholders as a family so that together we can attract individuals and organisations to invest in football,’ he disclosed.

Buttressing his commitment, Mr. Kannasieu’s Campaign Manager, Mr. Sullay Kamara, stated that now they were very satisfied that the eight year strangle hold on football has been finally broken and the game will now receive a new lease of life.

He also stated that it was very difficult as the agents of backwardness were very active and difficult to dislodge but that with the help of God and the support of progressive stakeholders they have been given the opportunity to bring new blood into the game.
