As stakeholders from Premier League clubs, female clubs, affiliated associations, First and Second Division clubs get set for today’s congress and elections, the Team Manager of Ports Authority FC who is also vying for the Chairmanship for the Western Area Football Association (WAFA), has called on all football stakeholders to allow the process to be free, fair, transparent and peaceful.
In an interview with AYV Sports, he stated that he is very confident of winning the elections as all the football stakeholders believe that he is the right man to head the association.
He also stated that he is ready to bring the revolutionary changes in football in the Western Area to make the game grow and develop.
“I have the charisma and integrity to attract commercial houses to come and invest in football, as football needs investment,” he stressed.
Mr. Kanasieu also stated that he does not want to show money to stakeholders as it against the football ethnics to give money to stakeholders for votes. He also said that despite his opponent having offered one million five hundred thousand Leones (Le1.5m) each to any stakeholders that will vote for him he still believe in the philosophy of change and honesty.
He explained that as far as he knows over the years the WAFA executives have not been working in the interest of football loving people but that instead they have been engaged in their own promoting their own personal interests, which, he observed, has destroyed the beautiful game, but as a football fanatic he believes by the end of the election if only stakeholders think positively and vote rationale he will win the election and transform all the negative thought in football and allow business houses to come in and invest in football which will help to developed the young talents in the country.
