Well done Paul Kamara
The Minister of Youth, Employment and Sports, Mr. Paul Kamara, needs to be applauded for his good work in the few months that he has been made Minster.
For the past years or so the national team, Leone Stars, has not been doing well in international competition but since he took over a lot of vigour has been put into the team and now they are making this nation proud.
In collaboration with football stakeholders and former Team Manager of Leone Stars, Mr. Christina Cole, Mr. Paul Kamara has achieved a lot for football in this country.
It could be remembered that recently the world governing body, FIFA sent a letter to the SLFA threatening that if the Minister continues to interfere in football they will ban Sierra Leone from international competition, but with his dynamic leadership they have understood the realities and have had to withdraw their statement and sent a delegation here to ascertain the truth of the situation.
Mr. Paul Kamara is the only Minister in the history of the country to have dared to send a reply to FIFA explaining to them what the situation of football is in the country which warranted their decision to send a delegation her to get a first hand appraisal of the situation .
We are all aware that the fight between him and the SLFA is over accountability of their activities vis-a-vis the funds that accrue to the association and how they are disbursed.
We will also do well to thank Mr. Paul Kamara for his reactivation of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association, which, for the past has been full of confusion and virtually ineffective.
Mr. Paul Kamara is the only Minister in the history of football in this country to have brought back home a balance of money that was taken to take care of expenses by the national team in an international encounter, an action that made him an enemy to the SLFA executive.
Personally I regard him as the Best Minister for 2011.
