Premier League Board Chairman resigns

Rodney Michael, Chairman, Salone Premier League Board

As the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) continues to expose their battle with the Sports Ministry, the Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, Mr. Rodney Michael, has resigned his position.

Speaking from Bo in a telephone interview, he told this paper that he decided to resign because certain executive members of the SLFA continue to interfere in the affairs of the Premier Board.

He also stated that since his appointment there are certain members of the SLFA who just think nothing good should happen to football in the country but they must sabotage all good intensions of people who want to develop football.

He also stated that he is aware that the SLFA has lot of problems but that he had continued to stay calm and continue his contribution to promote football in this country.

“I am not resigning because I want to but I want the public to know that I am not the type of person somebody can use in doing their selfish acts I cannot accept that because I regard myself as a respectable and honest Sierra Leonean,” he noted.

He revealed that he has sent his letter of resignation to the SLFA.

He also stated that he has no grudge against the SLFA and that will continue to work to promote football in the country.
