The Chairman for International Business Civilian Development Association (IBCDA) in China, has said that Sierra Leone’s development potentials are great and that the country being rich in mineral resources now has the focus of the world in terms of development.
Mengdai Wang spoke on Wednesday, March 7 this year during discussions with the Acting Head of Mission of the Sierra Leone Embassy in China, Mr. Paul A.S. Minah, on plans by the company to extend its operations in Sierra Leone.
IBCDA has been having exchanges and cooperation with global political, business, academic and media fields and has been appealing for raising high the banner of business civilization in all circles in the world to promote business civilization, he explained.
According to Mengdai Wang, Sierra Leone and China have continued to share friendly relations for years and that this relationship has extended to the point of the two countries becoming brothers. He stated that IBCDA is a non Governmental organization that has resources for development and that they want to see how these resources could be used to pay attention to Sierra Leone’s development aspirations. He also stated that their main objective is to provide business civilization worldwide and as such they would like to establish a platform for Sierra Leone in that direction.
IBCDA, he said, was formed to promote the development of business civilization in the future within the whole world with sound and ordered mechanism. He said with the rapid and disordered economic development of global business, problems normally occur in the field of global business and economic society. He explained further that during the running of an enterprise, a lot of difficulties will happen and as such the lack of an international business civilization mechanism will affect enterprises. The establishment of IBCDA, he said, will fill the gap of global the business civilization development mechanism.
Speaking on their plans to establish their business in Sierra Leone, Chairman Wang explained that they would like to help in establishing a civilized business environment in the country “which is one way of realizing sustainable development of business.” He said they are hopeful of realizing this goal jointly with Sierra Leone and to have further discussions in the future with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Sierra Leone for further discussions on their plans.
In his remarks, Mr. Paul A. S. Minah, expressed his country’s gratitude to the team for their good words on Sierra Leone. He also dilated on the relationship between the two countries, saying, “…this relationship has been very cordial and our President has so much respect for the relationship between the two countries. The relationship has been very special since the days of Chairman Mao…”
He said the relationship between China and other developing nations has always been a win-win situation and that plans by the IBCDA to start operations in Sierra Leone will be appreciated by the authorities. Mr. Minah also emphasized the potentials that Sierra Leone has in terms of mineral resources and the chances the country has to further develop its resources. He assured the team of the support they would need in their plans to invest in Sierra Leone.
