Councillor Josephine Makieu, the Councillor for Ward 232, representing the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) in the Bo City Council, has declared her intention to contest for a Parliamentarian seat for Constituency 13 in the Kenema District in the November 17 polls, this paper has learned.

Mrs. Josephine Makieu, who is a Nurse and Community Health Officer, told this paper that she joined the SLPP in 1991 with the aim of promoting women’s participation in politics, good governance, national unity and development.

She further explained that as Councillor she has facilitated several developmental projects ranging from culvert construction, construction of a community health centre and the construction of hand dug well pumps amongst others as testament of her development aspirations for her Ward.

She further disclosed that she has hired a caterpillar and a bulldozer which are now working on the road linking Bendu Junction and Yomboma in order to make the road accessible for her people.

The SLPP Parliamentary aspirant who is also a board member for the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) in Bo, assured the people of Constituency 13 of her desire to bring development programmes to them, and called on SLPP stalwarts to give her the symbol to enable her carry out these objectives.

She appealed to them to refrain from all forms of political violence and vote in Retired brigadier General Julius Maada Bio as resident in the November 17 General elections.
