Northern Polytechnic goes on strike

Reports reaching this paper indicate that students of the Northern Polytechnic have refused to go for classes because Government is on the verge of closing down a non Governmental organization, Help a Needy Child International (HANCI).

In a telephone interview with one of the striking students, Miss Alima Mansaray, she said they were totally against the closing down of HANCI as that will disrupt the educational programmes of a lot of children all over the country.

She explained that their refusal to go for classes in a demonstration of their rejection of Government’s decision to close down HANCI in order to carry out investigations into their activities.
