President Koroma crowns Kao Denero as Peace Ambassador

The President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, has crowned the leading Sierra Leonean Hip Hop Rapper, Amara Denis Turay, the Chief Executive Officer of Black Leo Records Label commonly known as Kao Denero aka Black James Bond 007, Mr. Pen don touch paper, Wata sie stone, and the King of Sierra Leone Hip Hop as an Ambassador for Peace in the country.

He made this revelation during a peace meeting between Kao Denero and Alhaji Amadu Bah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Red Flag Movement (RFM) who is commonly known as LAJ D Boss at State House on Thursday, April 12 this year. The delegation was led by the Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Alpha Kanu and other senior officials.

President Koroma told the musicians that he expected local musicians to embrace peace and preach peace in their songs.

He also stated that the general public have a lot of respect and love for musicians because of their they entertain them and preach messages of peace and tolerance to them.

 He encouraged them to focus on preaching peaceful messages to the people instead of engaging in the perpetration and promotion of violence.

President Koroma use the forum as an opportunity to crown Kao Denero as peace ambassador and appeal to him to serve as a role model in propagating the message of peace across the country.

In his statement, Kao Denero assured the President of his commitment in maintaining the peace and stability in the country. He stated that he is a peaceful citizen who works within the ambit of the law and has been doing his music over the past years successfully without stepping on the toes of others.

“I appreciate the proclamation made by you and I will do all I can as a citizen to work towards that and to help educate my fans and sympathizers to embrace peace and development, he promised.

He also explained that his presence in the country this April was to launch his new album titled “Blood Diamond Kids” and to work on modalities to establish the Black Leo Foundation in the to help street kids and the less privileged children.

In his remarks, LAJ reiterated that he will support the peaceful initiative of the President and work in partnership with other musicians to foster peace and development in the country.

The meeting was climaxed with a proposed peace concert at the National Stadium on Independence Day, April 27.

    That’s one of the best thing the President has done for S.L. Music; That is , recognizing good actor!! There is an adage which says that”A society that fails to honor good actors will go into extinction”.
