Former Ghanaian Captain, Steven Appiah, who now plays for Serbia FK Vojvodina, has heaped praise on Sierra Leone international striker, Lamin Suma after his impressive performance in FK Jogodina 0-0 draw over FK Vojvodina, predicting that the crafty young player will soon become the next football icon in Africa.
He said, “I was really pleased with Suma, and although he appeared to be a bit tired towards the end against FK Vojvodina, it was understandable, but he looked really fresh earlier and I thought his link-up play was good, particularly in the first half. Imagine he is just 20 and he hasn’t had very much game time because he just joined the club mid season. Now the end of season has come too soon for him, but we are hoping to see the best of him next season.”
He stated that he was very positive that Suma will get the goals he wants “because he is very quick and on another day he might have gotten a goal, but he was unlucky and he’s just got to keep his head up and keep working hard and then it will come.”
Describing Suma as a good finisher, he says the rising star just hasn’t had that much luck when he’s been on the pitch, maintaining that his time will come.
“I believe Lamin Suma will be another icon in Africa in the next season to come and I really encourage him as a young player to keep the pace going and one day he will become a super star in the world of football,” he concluded.
