The remains of the late Dr. Anthony Kakpindi Soyei will be laid to rest today in Bo, this paper has been informed.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Hon. Musa Tamba Sam, the death of Dr. Soyei is a big loss to their party particularly to his family and relatives.
He explained that when news of the death of Dr. Soyei broke out on that fateful day, the entire membership and the country as a whole was in shock.
Hon. Sam recalled that the late man was among the nineteen contenders for the flagbearership of the party in July last year that saw Retired Brigadier General Julius Maada Bio emerge as winner.
He described Dr. Soyei as a very committed and hard working member of the party who was one of the creators of the party’s think tank and other innovations.
He said the man was particularly admired because even when he did not emerge to lead the party, he was able to make his views and opinion heard and still remained very loyal and committed to the party.
He explained that Dr. Soyei believed that as a medical practitioner he was in a better position to rule the country, referring to the country as a sick body that needed to be medically examined and treated.
He also paid special to the APC executive members for visiting and sympathizing with them for the loss of one of their most articulate and loyal members.
He concluded extending on behalf of the party, heartfelt condolence to his wife, children and all members of the Soyei family.
