An official of the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau at Cline Town, in Freetown, have assured the general public that the alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, produced by KADCO Company Limited situated at Damba Road in Murray Town are safe for human consumption.
He also stated that before the products are marketed they pass through some tests to make sure that they are safe and have no harmful substances.
In an interview with the company’s General Manager, Mr. Emile Victor Morgan, he explained that since they took over NICOM and transformed it to KADCO they have spent thousands of United States Dollars to expand the company and produce quality products like Sasa Shandy, Tonic wine, Bitter Kola and Senator.
He said their products are very popular in the locally and international markets because they satisfy the tastes of their customers.
He also explained that beside the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau, the Sierra Leone Pharmacy Board and the Ghana Drug and Food Board have analyzed their products and reported that they are safe for human consumption.
He however lamented that a lot of unscrupulous people are going about imitating their products and appealed to customers to report any suspicious product to the Police or the company’s agents.
He said he was happy to note that they are contributing immensely to national development by paying taxes and employing a lot of young people.
