Children Crossing Cultures outline plans for Sierra Leone

A Finnish non Governmental organization based in Sierra Leone has outlined projects planned for Sierra Leone during an interactive session in Parliament earlier this week with their collaborative partners in the country.

Speaking on the projects, Ms. Sara Bachdtrom, a Social Worker from Finland, said the projects are geared toward enhancing the girl child education, women and youth empowerment, cultural exchange programmes and peace building through art.

She added that the projects would also focus on building an educational centre for women and girls in Freetown.

She also disclosed the establishment of a female radio station in the country, a Sierra Leone-Finland cultural centre to be established at the Kent Beach with the objective of bridging the culture gap between the two countries.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of RIPSTA, a working partner organization in Sierra Leone, Mr.  Emmanuel H. A Kabia, dilated on the relationship between the two organizations and assured the gathering that the two will work together to promote tourism and culture in Sierra Leone.
