Pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a-1) of the Electoral Code as adopted by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Kabala Extra-Ordinary Congress, in April, 2012; members of the football family and all would-be delegates are hereby informed that the scheduled date of 19-21st July, 2012 for the Kailahun Elective Congress has been deferred to the 23-25th August, 2012 due to the following reasons:
a. That up till today’s date, members are yet to fully comply to Article 10 of the SLFA constitution, despite several correspondences and official notifications issued by the Secretariat of the FA urging them to conform to the said obligations under the Constitution;
b. That should the said Elective Congress be held on this stipulated date as agreed by the Executive Committee of the FA, members would be automatically disenfranchised, due to lack of compliance to the dictates of the said provisions of the Constitution;
c. In the same vain, for a proper and credible elections to be held, the Electoral Committee needs to be given adequate and sufficient time to plan, prepare and finish its mandate as prescribed in the SLFA Constitution and Electoral Code.
Consequent on the above, the deadline is now extended to the 7th July, 2012; which shall be the ultimate cut-off date for all members to comply with Article 10 of The SLFA Constitution and regularize their status accordingly.
Failure to comply with those directives shall leave the Electoral Committee with no option but to disqualify such members from voting in the Elective Congress.
Signed:
Abdul Rahman Swarray
Secretary General, SLFA
