The Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) yesterday received one laptop from the Independent Media Commission (IMC).

At a ceremony held at the headquarters of the IMC at 54 Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Rod Mark-Johnson told Journalists that the computer was a gift from the Association of Journalists in Exile (ASAJIE) based in Sydney, Australia.

He said that they also donated sola lamps, encyclopedias and other reading books to Journalists in the provinces.

In his comments, Commissioner Mohamed Samura said the gifts were for only media institutions in the country, revealing that more will come for other media groups.

Receiving the item on behalf of WIMSAL, the organisation’s National Organizing Secretary, Miss Femi Coker, expressed thanks and appreciation to IMC and ASALJIE for thinking about their colleges in Sierra Leone. She said the laptop will boost their work and hoped that other organisations will emulate the kindness of ASAJIE.
