The women of Kailahun district have vowed to throw their weight behind the Leader and Presidential candidate of the ruling All Peoples’ Congress (APC), President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in the coming November 17 elections, for what Constituency 03 Kissy Teng Koindu Kaiahun district Chairlady described as the shame government has delivered Kailahun from.

Speaking to this Reporter at the APC national headquarters in Freetown, Madam Gladys Foyoh, recalled that Presidents have come and gone leaving them in muddy and dusty communities but however praised President Koroma for the development his government has taken to the door steps of the Kailahun people, which according to her has ensured “us all in that part of that country that we are indeed Sierra Leoneans and that we strongly form part of the nation building process.

“Former President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah promised us to free Yenga but he left us with the territory in the hands of the Guinean Army who have been victimizing our people. Now look at the good things that have been done in Kailahun under the leadership of President Ernesty Bai Koroma. So we have no alternation but to fully support him and the APC all the way,” she observed.

She expressed her profound delight for moves by the government of President Koroma towards the redemption of Yenga from Guinean occupation, adding, “our Leader’s effort will not go in vain as we the people of Kailahun are well aware and very much appreciative of his developmental strides in the country especially in Kailahun district, where he has brought back life to our people. For this we will ensure that he wins the elections at the first ballot.”

She said there has never been tarred roads in Kailahun until when President Koroma constructed good roads in that part of Sierra Leone and other places.

She called on all the Kauilahun women to stay away from the political culture of violence, saying that those who are bent on causing trouble prior, during and after the elections should go elsewhere and engage themselves in arm conflict but not in Sierra Leone as the people are no longer ready for trouble.

Asked how strong is the APC in the Kailahun district ahead of the November 17 contest, the Chairlady replied, “We are going to deliver all the seats in the district to the APC, Parliamentary as well as Councillorship.
