Thinking Pink Foundation, an organization that was set up to help champion the fight against cancer and other breast related diseases that affect women is set to raise more awareness for the women of Sierra Leone to make them become aware of the dangers of breast cancer.

Explaining this to this paper, the Director of the organisation, Dr. Josephus   Brima, disclosed that breast cancer is a killer disease that affects women, but can be cured if diagnosed early and aggressively treated.

He explained that the disease is caused by nature and nurture and the high level of degradation and radiation including the life style of people that has to do with the manner in which they are exposed to electrical appliances, computers and other electronic devises.

He also stated that breast cancer can also be caused by the type and quality of food that women eat which consists of a lot of oil and fat.

Women, he noted, should be eating less cholesterol and a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid eating junk and stale food.

He also noted that breast cancer is not transferable as it has to do with the chromosomes ranging from 13 to 17, which means that it can also be inherited.

He revealed that they help women by giving them treatment and teach them how to conduct medical and self regular breast examinations and observations to detect early signs and symptoms of cancer in their breasts.

Dr. Brima insisted that to fight breast cancer the environment needs to change and people also need to change their attitudes especially women who should avoid the excess use of electrical facilities in their homes, business places and places of work.

Talking to a woman (name withheld) who has undergone breast cancer operation, she said that she noticed unusual swelling on one of her breasts which used to give her fever.

She said when eventually visited the hospital for medical attention she was diagnosed with the ailment
