UDM sympathises with Ghana


The leadership and members of the United Democratic Movement (UDM) is saddened by the death of former President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor John Ata Mills, which heartrending event took place on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in Accra, Ghana.

The UDM hereby expresses it profound condolence to the bereaved family of former President Mills and join the resilient people of Ghana in mourning this great loss not only for Ghana, but for Africa and the world at large.

The UDM is very much aware of the invaluable contributions the late President Professor Mills made in the promotion of the ideals of democracy in Ghana in particular and Africa generally.

The UDM is hopeful that this sad loss to Africa will serve as a symbol in spurring African leaders to further espouse the ideas the late Professor Mills so cherished; that is, defending the ideals of democracy, promoting the rule of law, human rights, and providing especially for the disadvantaged and marginalized in society.

May the soul of one of Africa’s finest and democratic leaders, the late Professor John Ata Mills, rest in perfect peace!!!

Long live Sierra Leone! Long live democracy! Long live the UDM!
