With support from Christian Aid, Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union (EU), ENCISS has launched the third and final call for micro project grants/proposals for Civil Society Organisations, Coalitions, Networks and Ministries Department and Agencies (MDA’s) and Government Agencies to apply for funding for about Euro 10,000,000 (ten thousand euro) for the implementations of various projects across the country.
The launching was done at the Council of Churches Sierra Leone (CCSL) hall along Kingharman Road in Freetown on 16th August 2012.
Explaining the purpose of the launching, the Program Director of ENCISS, Mr. Alpha Sankoh, noted that the launching of the 3rd call for the award of grants is to give opportunities to Civil Society Organisations, Coalitions, Networks and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) and to properly know how and when to apply for such a grant and the steps to follow in applying. He said the organizations should focus their applications on the five thematic areas: Youth Development, Gender, Justice and Security, Elections and Decentralization of Local governments.
He, however, noted that the grants will last for only six months and organizations are expected to have met their expected deadlines as to their implementations. He also noted that organizations should take into cognizance that ENCISS will be monitoring the full implementations of the processes and beneficiary organizations should take note of that. He cautioned organizations to note that the ceiling for the grant is Euro 10,000 (ten thousand Euros) as organizations should take note of that and should ensure that they draw their proposals and budgets targeting the aforementioned ceiling. He called on all organizations to be in Community based organizations, CSOs or others to make
tary, chairperson etc).
Speaking on behalf of DFID, Mr. Bryan Welham called on organizations across the country to take advantage of the opportunity as they will be happy to see them thoroughly implementing such a project. He assured them of their continued support in enhancing the development of the country. Officially launching the 3rd Call for Grant proposals, the Communication Director ENCISS, Mr. Peter Beckley, appealed to organizations to apply as there is money available for various projects across the country. He advised that organizations in the provincial areas should apply through ENCISS regional offices across the country.
